QUADRANT
Brooke has most recently been invested in collaborative work under the direction of Tai Lee. The work is improvisationally based within a meticulous structure which creates an atmosphere of presence and surprise. Similar to a game in performance, this part two of a three-piece series was played by two dancers, four musicians, and one composer. Cameron Dunham and Brooke find themselves exploring their connection through the spontaneity of movement and sound. For two hours, the show is split into two games. The first begins with the lines on the ground where Brooke and Cameron must play within the rules of each line, as well as noise cues that alter their structure. During the second game, a screen appears with color-coordinated rules that all the players must work within. They performed the show twice at Arts On Site in NYC. Both outcomes were idiosyncratic considering the substance of the work creates a living, breathing piece of art.
The group is currently planning on a new body of work for January 2022.
